Hey guys, I've started a travel blog!
Ok, for those of you who don't know me very well I am a passionate traveller! Recently, whenever I tell one of my anecdotes to a friend or even a stranger, their most common reaction has been 'wow, you should write a book!' ... now as flattering and inspiring as that is, I don't really want to write a whole book. I've got a lot going on and I don't have the time for it ... but I can write out a few blog posts every now and again to whet yer whistles and get you in the mood fo

My incredible friend!
This is Liz. Liz is an awesome musician and a fantastic person. She has been my friend since I first came to Austria and she has provided me with some of the best support, love and positive energy that I have ever had the pleasure of receiving! Liz has been through some quite dramatic things and only 2 years ago nearly lost her life to a blood clot in her lung. Far from being depressed or scared though, what did Liz do? She picked up her flute for the first time in 21 years a

Heat, ice cream and Nirvana: 3 things I found in the Negev desert
As well as being the second part of my Israel travel story ... this is also the final draft of my competition entry. I just need to tighten it up and then I'll submit it! Wish me luck :-) Here are a couple of pictures from that same trip from 1998! 19 years ago. I feel so young ... **sad face** As bead of sweat trickled between my butt cheeks, I began to get the impression that I was hilariously overdressed. The heat was insufferable. It swaggered around yelling that, yes, it

My first travel competition ... second draft
Update March 3rd, 2017 Ok, here is draft number 2 ... any better? As a bead of sweat trickled between my butt cheeks, I started to get the impression that I was wildly, hilariously overdressed. I mean, who wears jeans and a sheepskin waistcoat to the desert? The heat seemed to swagger around, yelling at those of us who lingered in it that, yes, it was that hot, and if we didn't like it we could just get back on the bus … like little bitches. The London to Tel Aviv flight had

My first travel competition ...
Ok, so I love writing and I love traveling ... I have to admit that traveling is my first love ... I started to travel at 18 and have never really looked back. I live for those moments on the road and only really feel free when I have nothing to do and nowhere to go. In light of this, I am in the process of applying for a scholarship with World Nomads. World Nomads are a part of the Rough Guide group and for as long as I can remember, I have wanted to write for the Rough Guid
